  1. The big challenge for Poland is that they really haven’t played a “competitive” match under Smuda….he was hired with two games left in the 2010 WC Qualifiers, by which time Poland was already out of contention. They’ve only played friendlies since, so they’ll have to find a way to turn on the urgency when they need it.

  2. Very Disappointed with this Vodcast. You guys talked about Greece for literally 3-4 minutes and you didn’t mention one player’s name ( yeah I know they’re hard to pronounce but come on) and you just kept mentioning the team of 2004. 8 years has passed from the team that won it all and the team has changed. Don’t forget in Euro 2008, they lost every game and looked terrible, probably the worst team of the tournament. Also, last World Cup they were very subpar and it showed as they didn’t get past their group. But that was when they got rid of Rehhagel and brought in Santos and now the team is on the rise. They had a very successful qualification, coming from behind to beat Georgia to clinch and beating Croatia 2-nil in Croatia to leap frog them in the standings. I thought those were some of things that should have been touched on. Also, I would have loved to hear how some of the Greek players did with their club teams and which guys to look out for in the tournament.

KJ, as much as I appreciate you saying that Greece will win the group, I don’t have that much confidence in your pick because of the lack of information you provided on the current squad. That doesn’t mean I don’t have confidence in the Greek team because I do. I would have just appreciated more information. That’s my two cents. GO ETHNIKI!

    • Thanks for your comments and trust me there will be lots of time to get into this squad as we get closer and during the tournament on all platforms. Greece’s on the 16 in 16 feature airs on Saturday on TV and will be available here. We went longer on Poland with Janusz because they are the hosts and thus have more storylines around them right now. The reason why I think they can win the group is because they grow into games really well, they don’t worry when they are behind and I think play really well in second halves which isnt always the case with international teams. I hope that satisfies you for now. Trust me you’ll get lots of analysis on your team from us and all the teams between now and July 1st.
