Fair result should have been 1 -1.
Agreed. Portugal didn’t deserve to lose that. 0-0 seemed more fair though, fluke deflection on the Gomez goal right to him.
When the scoreline was 0-0, portugal was contributing absolutely nothing to the game, they sat back and played 9 people behind the ball, 10 when ronaldo decided to track back. But portugal didnt start playing well and pressing until Gomez opened the scoring.
The whole ‘fluke deflection right to Gomez” watch it again. Gomez was man marked by Pepe when Khedira whipped the ball in, it took a deflection, Pepe stood still, Gomez moved 3-4 yards to get in the correct position to head the ball. Pure class, and to say that was luck, well you need to think again.
Germany were the better team. 1-0 is a fair result.
