  1. I feel like people are overlooking the fact that Germany had some very good chances and were just a bit unfortunate in scoring.

Italy capitalized on every chance they got (not counting the last 15 minutes of the game because Germany was way up in the pitch) and you could see that Germany was a bit unlucky and undone from missing their chances.

The game would have been quite different had Germany managed to score that first goal with at least 10 minutes left on a clock. What a shame that it wasn’t, would have been a very interesting last few minutes to watch.

    • Couldn’t agree more. Goals change games, and especially this one. Prandelli got his tactics right for sure but the 1st 15 minutes could have led to a very different next 75.

    • Agree. The second goal was largely caused by the Germans gambling too much on a corner kick, pushing everyone forward to get the equalizer. Lahm shouldn’t have been the only guy back to try to cover the speedy and dangerous Balotelli threat.

      • But he wasn’t actually the only guy back. He had two defenders next to him and pretty much all of them were asleep at the wheel

  2. Where Brassell and Raphael Honigstein at????

Too busy being shocked and depressed????

hahahahaha Be prepared to witness HISTORY ON SUNDAAAAAAAY.

  3. Just a question, why would Spain would be relieved not playing Germany again, based on what their previous games? May I remind you that they’ve beaten Germany very convincely and the only team they’ve not beaten yest is Italy. Even in 2008, with a much stronger Spain and a weak Italy it took the PK to eliminate us.
Unfortunately for us, Spain never understimate Italy the way English and the Germans do. That could be another reason why they both lose against us.

    • Spanish geniuses only respect other geniuses. They will respect Pirlo’s godliness. They will respect De Rossi’s gladiator status. Italy will be respected.

They WILL NOT respect that buffoon khedira running around. They will not respect mueller, podolski, gomez, klose. They MAY respect avatar eyes because Valdez will remind them of that one cross bar shot in the el clasico. germany will be laughed at by the Spanish.

I <3 U Alba. You have NO Idea how many fantasy points I get cuz of your lil feet.

  4. Really enjoying these vods. Most sport analysis segments seem too mainstream, footy show has that homie feeling to it. I can curl into my bed w an ipad and enjoy it

  5. I didnt predict the scoreline or the balo brace, but i honestly believed azzuri would win due to the 16 year psych advantage (more than 50% of football is played in the head – simon kuper, i think, or one of the players in soccer men) and the confidence italy displayed in the shootout especially balotelli taking that first penalty and smirking at hart. I also have been telling anyone i talk to about football, that despite being a red devils fan, i love mario modern cantona-ism and was sure for the past year that euro 2012 would be where he became a superstar. congrats to him, hopefully he pisses of someone at city and moves across town

  6. HAHAHAHA WHAT HAPPENED KJ???

YOUR BELOVED ENGLAND – OUT. GAMEPLAN WAS “NOT TO LOSE” HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Remeber Ashley Cole being booked for “time wasting” in the Italy, england game??? HASN’T MILNER DONE THAT ALL TOURNAMENT???

YOUR BELOVED PORTUGAL/RONALDO – OUT/REPUTATION ONCE AGAIN DOWN THE DRAIN BECAUSE HE’S EITHER TOO SELFISH TO TAKE THE 5TH PEN OR DOESN’T HAVE THE BALLS TO TAKE THE FIRST.

YOUR BELOVED GERMANY – OUT. AND NOT ONLY OUT, BUT SHOULD’VE LOST BY WORSE.

ITALY IS NEXT. LET THE BUILD UP TO THE FINAL CONTINUE WITH “SPAIN’S DEMISE” IN THOUGHT.

  7. KJ and James seems to neglect to inform why Hummels is so highly rated in BuLi. Yes, he has physique and is a good defender overall. However, It is his passing skill that makes him a great prototype of new generation of CBs.

There are many like T.Silva, Koscielny, Pique, etc who are good on the ball. However they aren’t creating the game like the way Hummels is doing in BVB

After Sahin left, Dortmund initially lacked game maker in the deep position. Gundogan was still adjusting, Leitner too young, and others being more of defensive types. Hummells effectively filled that void created by the departure of the Turk, who was voted the 10-11 season’s MVP by Kicker.

Yes, that Xavi Alonso side of him is not featured much for Germany. I’ve heard that Lowe is asking Hummels to tone down on challenging passes to avert risks. Also, his blunders in the Italy game doesn’t cover him in glory. However, anybody who have seen his season would think he is a world class already.

  8. When you guys are speaking about Italy vs Germany and the tv screen is behind you guys, the Italian flag is backwards! Forza italia
