Juventus boss Antonio Conte was in Rome today to meet with Italian FA prosecutor Stefano Palazzi to discuss his role in the most recent match fixing scandal to rock Italian soccer.
The allegations made by former Siena midfielder Filippo Carobbio claim Conte told his players a Serie B game against Novara had been fixed.
This is only the latest in a series of investigations that has spanned across Europe – Turkish heavyweight Fenerbahce were cleared by the Turkish FA in May after a lengthy investigation. The video above delves into the murky criminal underworld and its fetish for match fixing. While clubs in lower leagues are the usual target, gangsters are beginning to aim higher with more regularity.

Get your facts straight bro, dont put up a picture of Conte insinuating he is guilty, because everyone knows he not..
Your heading makes one of the best coaches in the world today look like a criminal and it just isn’t true.. He’ll be cleared.
You yourself put up an article about racism, but it seems every pop writer in North America talk about italians, their players and their teams only whenit comes to match fixing and gangsterism.. When italy does something good in soccer, you barely hear about it..But on this web page and other like ESPN, when Italy is in the news about something bad, you guys find the time to make it front page news… Stop being racist against italians, you and everyone else.
Thanks.
Note I said allegations, Mark.
Indeed. Italy’s impressive and mostly unexpected win over Germany at Euro was totally ignored by “the press.” Bunch of racists, whomever they are.
The entire football world needs to pay more attention to allegations of match fixing – because it is happening (at some levels in some competitions), and it will destroy the game; and no one will care what Italy, or anyone else wins, if the results can’t be trusted.
