TFC has acquired striker Eric Hassli from the Vancouver Whitecaps in exchange for Toronto’s first round pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft along with an international roster spot through the 2013 season.
TFC Head Coach Paul Mariner:
“Adding a player of Eric’s ability gives an immediate improvement to our club. He has had a lot of success in this league and we are pleased to bring him to Toronto.”
The Sarreguemines, France native has tallied 12 goals and 5 assists in 44 appearances for the Whitecaps after arriving from FC Zurich for the start of the 2011 season. The move helps fill the void created by the injury to Dutch striker Danny Koevermans.
A deal that was rumored to happen actually did – how bout that.

Will he be expected to feature tomorrow vs Liverpool?
Going to say it’s highly improbable he does, Garrett.
Isnt he a DP? Does this mean all 3 designated roster spots are now full, or do we get an exception for koevermans ?
According to Mariner, the DK injury freed up a DP spot http://www.torontofc.ca/video/2012/07/17/paul-mariner-july-17-2012 (4:20 mark)
Since Danny is injured, I’m guessing he will replace him for now. I mean, there really isn’t that much competition for the striker position….
nice pick up, although i thought he had a better strike rate 12 in 44 games isn’t exactly lethal. scores some beauts though
Bring back Danny Dichio!
Wow – not only a dangerous striker but didn’t cost us a DP spot
Now get Mellberg to help that D
interesting move.
