I missed you guys.
Not an RVP fan at all and would certainly prefer a creative boss midfielder but ….. I guess he can’t really do anything but help. I hope it doesn’t become an overload of strikers with nobody to get them the ball.
Scoring goals wasn’t really a problem last season.
Vidic back should solve lots of their defensive issues if he is back in form.
Rooney will play deeper into midfield as Giggs and Scholes are fazed out, and once again Anderson and Cleverly are hurt. The Trio of RVP, Chicharito and Welbeck will carry United through all the competitions and back to where they belong.
Clearly people weren’t watching Kagawa shine all throughout preseason on theScore if they think United need another midfielder.
well red devil after 6 games play would u admit now u needed to strengthen your midfield?
I was thinking a 4-2-3-1 with Kagawa behind RVP and Rooney given a free role as the LAM…with Evra attacking the byline he would have support to attack central areas…Also he’s shown that he can play on the left wing at a world class level…when Ronaldo was the Central Forward ( http://www.zonalmarking.net/2010/03/20/teams-of-the-decade-3-manchester-united-2006-09/) it would allow Kagawa to play in his natural position and Inter Milan had success in 2010 when they pushed Eto’o to wide right in a 4-2-3-1
RVP will be a great addition to United. However the discussion as to how United set up is complicated as they many so many options.
I honestly see them setting up in a traditional 4-4-1-1, RVP to lead the line with Rooney dropping off. Kagawa alongside Cleverly or Carrick, offering balance in attack and defensive shape. The back 4 will look relatively the same with Evra, Rio, Vidic and Rafael.
I feel bad for Welbeck, Chicharito, Berba and Macheda. Fergie should let some of them go out on loan or sell. I’d keep Welbeck and Chicharito, as they offer different options with pace and running in behind the defence.
As a United supporter, it’s nice to see the attacking options, but finding a system and rotation that works best for the squad for the long season will be the real test. Fergie is usally pretty good in that department.
Should be a fun season…
KJ stop spewing nonesense, RVP is a great player I give you that, but how can you call him world class when even his international boss has come out and said he is not his first choice. Out of 8 years with the Arsenal he had a few good seasons and one fantastic season, he is 29 and a broken down golf cart he wont last! So great buy United I hope he stays healthy.
One player does not make the team and with the reinforcements that Wenger has brought in I gurantee you that Arsenal will be title contenders. It was all doom and gloom when Na$ri and Cesc left but what happened? Arsenal finished in a higher position 3rd from 4th scoring more goals in the process.
James…are you calling RVP the Al Leiter of the Premier League?
