KJ – Arsenal, “a team that will have to settle for mediocrity”? I’d have some of that “mediocrity” at the Boleyn this year. Heck, I’d just take one match that wasn’t all long balls.
Great point and that is exactly what I was stressing in my article yesterday. It all comes down to expectations from fans. As a Hammer you would take that for sure but you’d admit that Arsenal fans, before the last year or two, absolutely are in their place to expect more, right? Now they just need to alter those expectations.
Especially given the ridiculously high ticket prices at the Emirates….Arsenal fans have every right to ask where that money’s going, no?
I couldn’t care less about Man U or Arsenal. I care about Lille and Ajax and, more generally, about greater equality in professional football. Enough of this myopic anglocentrism.
Hey KJ,
On your point about FFP and thinking its naive to think it will not be implemented with full penalties, don’t you think AC Milan one the most successful clubs in European football history selling their only two world class players display that teams are fearful of FFP?
on the vanpersie signing i wouldve preffered he went to a club in a different league but for that kind of money i think it was smart business by the gunners wenger does know when to sell players (with the exception of fabregas) the gunners were never gonna win the league even with vanpersie in the squad but they will contuine to prove people wrong and qualify 4 champs league again man united should worry about there midfield they didnt need another striker to just have hernandez and welbac k sit on the bench they bought vanpersie so city couldnt snatch him up
