Let’s imagine that skill and media attention are two different plotted lines on a graph (apologies but Tuesdays are the Footy Blog’s unofficial Analytics Day). Ideally, it’s best for football and for life if those lines are perfectly aligned.
In Mario Balotelli’s case, those lines are crossing each other at the moment. This interview comes as a relative low ebb in his star status. He’s essentially become a bit of a super sub at City, and his Father Complex with Roberto Mancini is getting just a little tiresome.
Anyway, here’s the Time magazine interview. I don’t know why, but the interviewer herself seems either like she just took a horse tranquilizer or is scared shitless. The questions…meh. He wants to meet Obama. Wow.

My god, were you bullied Whittall?? I mean, do you get a kick out of putting others down?
Jeezus, just leave the guy alone, he’s awesome =)
And before you say “but you put me down all the time”, I don’t. Do I put down what you say, and your opinions? Hell yeah, all the time. =)
Low ebb for City but every match he plays for Italy he looks better and better which is all I really care about. Forza Balo.
