OK, so we’ve heard this before, but so what? It comes from Jon Heyman of (for the time being) Sports Illustrated, so you know it’s gotta be true. Right? Right?

According to a tweet from Heyman the Jays are interested in the Rockies closer– Parkes lent his voice to this acquisition yesterday at Getting Blanked– but they’re not without competition to pry Street away from the team that inexplicably just traded for Kevin Slowey. The Rockies have had discussions on street with Orioles, Reds and “others.”

If he does move, the price may not be nothing– but it might not be so bad either. According to Troy Renck of the Denver Post the Rockies had discussed sending Street to the Reds for Edinson Volquez. May I offer you a Brett Cecil? No? Oh, OK. Worth a shot.

So… there’s that.

  1. Bailey’s better. Street wouldn’t be an upgrade on Francisco.

  2. Just solve the problem from within.

Carreno, Janssen, Litsch, Perez, Villanueva, & Nestor Molina closing is good enough.  Maybe add Drabek or Cecil, or perhaps a free agent that wont cost too much in term or salary.

No need to give up assets to add one.  But I fear that is what is gonna happen.

  3. Bailey will cost more.

  4. Sergio Santos to Jays for Nestor Molina
