Now it’s time for all the stuff I don’t figure on making full posts out of, with the spiffy graphic by Matt English (aka @mattomic). It’s your Afternoon Snack…

At Getting Blanked, Drew tells us that… hold on… the Yankees have signed Andy Pettitte? Where were the Jays on this!!?!?

The Toronto Sun says it’s so far so good for Dustin McGowan and Kyle Drabek. In case you missed my post yesterday, Keith Law thinks they’re half right.¬†¬†also looks at Kyle Drabek.

At the Toronto Star, Richard Griffin talks about the lessons John Farrell learned from Terry Francona.

At Miked Up, Wilner has coverage from yesterday’s game, including a bunch of audio, from John Farrell, Eric Thames, Kyle Drabek, Dustin McGowan and Brian Burke. (Yes, Burkie.)

I’m probably more pleased than I should be to have been tweeted at by Frank Catalanotto.

FanGraphs has an interesting chat with ex-Jays and current Pirates coach Nick Leyva.

Bluebird Banter chooses Evan Crawford as this years Irrational Spring Training Player of Devotion. I feel that– though, they pass along, via Gregor Chisholm (with an actual link!), that Crawford and Joel Carreno have just been sent to minor league camp.

Lastly, Grant Brisbee of Baseball Nation talks about the Jays and payroll. As you might expect, it’s pretty awesome.

  1. bad link for Wilner Blog… sends to ESPN piece

  2. Congrats on the F-Cat tweet. Nice way to kick off the weekend.

  3. It’s interesting, scanning the boxscore, to see that Jason Frasor pitched an inning in that 2004 game in Chicago where the Cat went 6-6. I remember being at that game, first row in RF, and it was pretty wicked to see him get all those hits. I was a dumb high schooler soakin’ in the good vibes of the second city, trying to chirp Magglio but probably just saying dumb shit about his butt in between huge mouthfuls of sugar.

  4. Lol love the mention of the Cat tweet. I totally bragged when Ed Sprague tweeted at me lol Funny how that works
