As I mentioned in this morning’s… uh… Morning Snack, SB Nation did a great job of breaking down the streaking that took place at the Rogers Centre on Tuesday night.
They did not, however, have video of the run in its entirety. WorldStarHipHop, however, does. And clearly the whole thing was premeditated, seeing as the camera is aimed at the streaker the moment he enters the field. Which doesn’t make it any less amusing, it’s just… it’s still slightly scary to see someone rush the field, since you don’t know exactly which kind of crazy they might be.
Which is to say, for fuck sakes, don’t do this, kids. Just enjoy watching some other guy do it… y’know like the players did, as the Sportsnet broadcast made quite evident when they panned across the dugouts in order to “not show such behaviour.”
UPDATE: The streaker speaks! Rob Duffy of The GridTO has the interview.
Thanks to @AndyMc9293 for the heads up.

It’d be nice to see the players just clock one of these guys sometime. Obviously not worth the risk of injury, I guess, but it would still be awesome.
Also not worth the risk of lawsuit.
Also I’m not sure how it works in baseball, but I seem to remember an English footballer being red carded for tackling a streaker. Anyway this guy’s a moron. Have fun trying to get a job or cross the border for the next few years with a criminal record. Douchebag.
He’s 17… timed it perfectly so that he won’t have that issue.
Agred. No MLB player wants to get charged for assaulting a fan.
Why didn’t the police react quicker?
Why let the 10$ hour Rogers staff do the tough job of chasing after the guy.?
On youtube you can find some older video of morons runnign onto a football field and getting destroyed. It’s pretty amusing.
Doesn’t happen anymore obviously for fear of lawsuits, etc. But back in the day it seemed all was fair.
Good times.
My buddy did this at a BC Lions game, almost made it all the way down the field. It’s pretty funny when you notice how much the fans and players love it..
Found the Video

I wonder whether we’ll ever see an on-field tazing?
Already have. In Philadelphia.

Now there’s a deterrent! Thanks.
Each streak should end with a tasering imo.
Here’s what I believe to be the greatest Dome streak yet. Payoff is near the end. rtsp://v3.cache6.c.youtube.com/CjYLENy73wIaLQkjvJeonNw2oxMYJCAkFEIJbXYtZ29vZ2xlSARSBXdhdGNoYPSUmb-HzOStTgw=/0/0/0/video.3gp
I love that Ellsbury almost went after him. Would have been hilarious if he just stuck his foot out and tripped the guy while was running and looking back at the cops.
Stoeten,
I tapped into my inner Sherlock and broke the whole thing down here —>

Since when is it called “streaking” when the guys’ wearing clothes?
I was thinking the same thing..
Mike Wilner’s quip as this was happening was something to the effect of “And he seems to have something painted on his body…I can’t quite make it out, but I think it says ‘I’m an idiot’ “.
Haha that’s pretty funny.
if i recall correctly, the charge would be tresspassing. but if the the young man was clever he would argue that he consumed alchhol at the rogers centre, and that they over served him, which impaired his judgment, and thus make rogers centre responsible for his safety (ex. getting into a car to drive, streaking across the feild ) under ontario law.
book it!
Couldn’t he still get charged with public mischief or something? That’s what he states he think he’ll get charged with in the interview.
If “but so-and-so got me drunk” was an excuse for mischievous acts, no one would ever get charged for it.
The only problem with that story is that the guy was talking about it on Twitter days in advance.
Good point!. Remember when Rogers fired the old guy who used to shout Beeerrrr! because he forgot to ask for ID for some young people who ordered beer. It was a huge scandal. I saw him at the game a few years ago. Very nice guy. There was a you tube video about him.
Anyone remember Wayne the Beer Vendor??

Kind of reminds me of Danny from Less Than Kind. It’s that mischievous smile.
This is by far the best “fan on the field” moment, IMO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7B4gic1-qU
This is the best streaker video I’ve seen

WIN!!!! Why aren’t there more female streakers??
Kinda funny how the poor Roger’s Centre staff have to chase this guy and tackle him to the ground, while the cops watch. Then the police jump in once he’s down and take over. Although I guess all cops like getting involved once the perp is on the ground right.
Kind of stupid that they tackled him imo anyways. All they had to do was grab his arm…fucking security/cops/etc all on a power trip.
Bullshit.
Yes, they should have grabbed his arm. And broken it.
Maybe then the idiot would have learned his lesson.
They should of shot him in the back of the head for daring to ruin the sanctity of a baseball game. At the very least.
From where I was sitting I swore the security guy in blue was smashing the streakers head into the ground, and the video coincidentally cuts out right as this was supposedly happening.
I could be crazy. Also I don’t really care if he did, just sayin’.
I ran out once, after the game was over. Was it somewhat stupid? Yeah. Did it cost lots of cash. Yeah. Did it make Sports Illustrated? Yeah. Was it worth it? No. Was it kinda fun. Yeah. Did I do it in good spirit? Yeah. Did this guy? Yeah. Did Frank Thomas like it? Yeah.
Have I grown up a bit? Slightly. Would I do it again. Yea…..no.
I don’t remember where I heard it, but if I recall correctly they get charged for whatever offense they did and are also banned for life from Rogers Centre? Does anybody know?
That’s silly. How would Rogers Centre keep a copy of his photo if he attends another Jays game? The ticket takers don’t look at photos when they scan our tickets.
Hmm, fans love it, pumps up the home team, but brings a risk to the safety of the players … kinda reminds me of something in some other sport. Shoulda given the guy an extra two and a misconduct for premeditating.
