According to several reports, the Toronto Blue Jays are shutting down Dustin McGowan after the oft injured pitcher visited what one can only assume is a close personal friend at this point, Dr. James Andrews.
McGowan had been experiencing pain in his shoulder and will now rest for two weeks before restarting his rehab program. As I said at the time of his contract extension this Spring, given his past further injury was rather foreseeable.
However, I take no pleasure in being right. Okay, maybe a little, but I still wish McGowan all the best for his most recent recovery, and remain relieved that his shoulder inflammation wasn’t worse.
