Podcast the Sixth!

And now a little something to kill time on a Monday afternnoon, and to fill you with rage over Dustin Parkes’ hating-on of Eric Thames Adam Lind: it’s the latest episode of the DJF podcast!

This week Drew, Parkes and I talked Minnesota Twins, BABIP, the bullpen, Jose Bautista, Colby Rasmus, we probably tossed in a bunch of stuff about morons for good measure, and a whole bunch more! We’ll be having guests this year, but not every single week– and this’ll be one of the guest-less ones. Again!

We’ll be be back again on Thursday, and we want to hear from you! Call us (hammered) at 1-855-FOUL-TIP, or email us (hammered) at GettingBlanked@theScore.com with whatever is sticking in your craw, and next Thursday we’ll dissect the best the Monkey Army has to offer.

If you’re more inclined to download today’s podcast, hit up the mp3 link.

The DJF iTunes page is up and running, so get on over there and subscribe– or update the subscription you already have to find the latest episode (once it’s up). Another listening alternative comes if you like us on Facebook, as you’ll be able to play the podcast straight from your news feed, once our status is updated to include this post. Try it!

  1. What do you think of the comparison of Rasmus and Alex Rios? i brought up their first 3 seasons stats with Wilner on twitter and he dismissed it as a completely unfair comparison

  2. Completely in agreement with Drew today on Brett Lawrie at third base. His skills do not translate to second base. You look at the way he fields some more routine plays and he just isn’t smooth enough to do the many different things that are involved with playing 2nd base as opposed to 3rd. When he doesn’t have to really think about what he’s doing, Lawrie is at his best because let’s be honest, he isn’t the brightest player in the MLB. 3rd base is great for that because so much is reactions and as Drew mentioned, Lawrie’s reactions are awesome. I agree with Drew and think it was very savvy of the Jays brass to identify Lawrie’s skills were much more suited to 3rd than 2nd.

p.s. the Twins center field camera view is too high. Don’t understand why you build a new stadium without the money center field view that just about every park has.

  3. surprised you guys all like wilner’s play by play! I liked him at first when i heard him doing the WBC in 2009, but I just find him far too excitable in a way that just isnt enjoyable to me.. I guess its possible his jays talk personna is the cause of that, but regardless i dont enjoy his call

  4. Please let us know the name of the song that plays at the end of the podcasts.

  5. One of you said that Jose Bautista was the all time home run leader at Target Field. I pointed this out a Twins fans, who quickly and correctly pointed out that both Thome (21) and Cuddyer (16) have hit more.
I admit, I am being a bit of a tool here.

    • Ahhh, yes, I think we were confused, because it’s just that he’s hit more than Morneau and Mauer, so nobody ever talks about the other two. Oh well, thanks for the correction.

  6. Funny last year when Griffin compared Rasmus to a young Brad Wilkerson, and that might be a legit comparison now.

  8. I have been browsing online more than 2 hours today,
yet I never found any interesting article like yours.

It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all webmasters and bloggers made
good content as you did, the internet will be a lot more
    useful than ever before.
