You don’t mess with success, amiright? So after last night’s fireworks obviously the Jays and John Farrell are gonna go right back to the ol’ lineup well and trot the same crew out against Phil Hughes and– hang on. WHAT THE FUCK!?!!?!?

Arencibia fifth? Francisco at DH?? YAN GOMES????

Well that’s fucking trippy.

Wilner tells us on the radio broadcast that Vlad Guerrero showed up in such good shape and looked so good in Dunedin that he’ll start playing tomorrow– getting some time in the outfield “to get his legs under him”. Hopefully, because there’s no fucking way you can ever play him in a Major League outfield.

  1. I keep telling Farrell I am the only good bunter on this team but he thinks Im stoned all the time and just ignores me

  2. syndergard another 4 inn no hitter. what the fuck are the jays going to do with all these pitching prospects. is it time to trade one of them for a mike trout?

    • If they had a AAA team anywhere but the PCL they’d have more developmental spots available than they do now. Going forward I think it’s going to be important for them to get out of Vegas when you have so many stud pitching prospects in A ball and more on the way in rookie ball not to mention this year’s haul of picks.

As for trading them, obviously not all of them are going to work out so nothing wrong with having depth in the rotation. If anything they might get more bang for their buck by trading one of starters currently in the majors already like Seattle did. Just look at what Oakland was able to do even after they traded Hudson and Mulder.

      • I assume in 2 years morrow gets traded.

the AAA outfield is getting pretty damn crowded, snider, sierra, gose. gonna need some house cleaning, thames gets traded or released, same for rasmus, probably snider and sierra platoon next year.

the jays really need a stud cf. I can see alex trading one of his prized pitching prospects for one.

        • I guess there will be a lot of factors but if it’s anything like the Montero Pineda deal then it will be a younger pitcher with lots of years of control left.

Agree with you on the outfield, would love to turn one of them into a stud first baseman. We seem set at catcher, short, 3rd and the outfield and probably pitching for the next few years with what’s in the system and the ceiling on those players.

Wonder what it would take pitching wise to pry a struggling Hosmer away from KC considering their pitching is a dark hole for the most part.

  3. Can’t believe I’m saying this already but,

…great job by the pen tonight. Seriously Frasor, Oliver & Janssen were straight up nails.

    • Yeah I have to tip my hat to them. I’ve been pretty hard on them for most of the year. As a group they’ve cut more than a run off their April numbers even before tonight’s game.

  4. I would actually flip gose/rasmus right now. you have to see what you’ve got with gose before next year.

  5. this is how I hope to see the lineup in a few weeks:

    1. RHB Escobar SS
    2. LHB Johnson 2b
    3. RHB Bautista RF
    4. RHB Encarnacion 1b
    5. RHB Lawrie 3b
    6. LHB Snider LF
    7. RHB Guerrero DH
    8. RHB Arencibia C
    9. LHB Rasmus CF

I think a switch along these lines could help to wake up the bats a bit.
