Alright! It’s time for our regular Friday trip around baseball to talk about the interesting topics (TM), with a little Jaysturbation (or not), cooking tips, heresy, trains (?), car noises, and even more depressing realizations about just how ridiculously out-of-whack MLB’s alignment is thrown in for good measure (or not): it’s a brand new episode of the Getting Blanked Podcast!

This week we spoke amongst ourselves on the nature of fandom in the modern age. No, really. Just… just listen, OK?

If you prefer to have a listen later, you can download the podcast right here.

Alternately, you can hit up the Getting Blanked iTunes page, which is humming along these days, and from now on until the end of eternity will have all our podcasts, mp3s and whatever other audio goodies we dream up posted there in a timely manner.

  1. Saw someone tweet “Focus on the process, not the destination”. I think being a sports fan is a balance of both. The game is why you started watching, the dives, catches, big flys and all of that, and the front office stuff I think is sort of the next level, like an expansion pack (to be really lazy). Some people crave every expansion they can get their hands on, some people just like the game. At the end of the day everyone is in the same boat regardless of information, just a fan, and that’s supposed to be fun. So as long as it’s fun to you, who gives a shit what someone else says “a fan” is.

  2. Are fans bigger baseball geeks than ever? Fuck ya. Either you are a baseball nerd or you don’t watch baseball at all, it seems these days…

  3. Here’s to the Tim Raines level of insanity!
