Chart explanation

Regardless of the standings, it always feels good to beat the Yankees. 9th inning home runs help too.

CRUSH!
Can there be a “most pointless” category? Aaron Loup has the lost aLI and a WPA that’s practically negligible…
I like it. I’ll add it tomorrow.
the jays won this game according to $/WAR.
I believe in Colby Rasmus.
I could be wrong but it looks like Hech was the “worst bat” – at least from WPA. Thought he made some good contact. Of course, I don’t do so good at your fancy ‘maths.’
Oversight on my part. the – shouldn’t have been there. He had a good day, 2-5.
Thanks for the heads up, I fixed it.
Now THAT is a tater!
There’s never a dull moment with Sierra in right.
Please make Tabler go away.
Love,
Sherwood
“Go Gandhi!”
That’s how you tag something! Take note David Copper.
Anyone listening to Baseball Central at Noon today? Hayhurst just proposed trading Gose and one of the Lansing 3 for…Jason Vargas.
i heard that. i wanted to laugh but i was busy puking
That would be almost as dumb as giving up prospects to take Carl Crawford’s contract
what?? Garfoose, I shake my head sadly. Vargas is kind of a Safeco creation – just brutalized at Stankee stadium and Fenway and Rangers Ballpark – we already have Aaron Laffey and Brett Cecil thanks
Yeah just when I was starting to like Hayhurst.
Vargas has something like a 5.75 FIP on the road this year, and a 0.8 WAR overall. I don’t think he’s any better that what we already have.
I like these graphs. I had not realised that the little line could go all the way to the top – a nice alternative to the ‘falling off the Eiger’ profile of recent weeks.
Hayhurst proposes trades like he pitched-borderline dumb.
I’d be glad to take Vargas, but he is really Brett Cecil with a little better control ( not as many high pitches) and amaybe 2mph more n the FB (90-91).
I’de give them Cecil and either the kid with the best stuff in the organization ( oh yeah Dyson) or Crawford-that’s it
Vargas has awful splits outside of Safeco.
Cecil has awful…. everything
Moises Sierra – my second favourite part of last night’s game for this reason: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ThtM26RXDyQ/UDw09h92TII/AAAAAAAAEWk/bEn-ii5MUCw/s1600/Sierra-Bobble.gif
Sierra has an 80 grade smile – that skill was on full display after that play – keep it up Moises
Hayhurst is a troll
For all those that bashed AA for the Happ trade the Astros have turned Joe musgrove into a reliever and the Jays farm team slapped him around last night.
I can watch this GIF all day
Is Rasmus’ 0.684 WPA the best by a Blue Jay this season? It’s got to be near the top for a hitter.
Answering my own question…
It’s the highest by a Blue Jay hitter this year. It’s second to Luis Perez, who had a 0.753 WPA on Opening Day.
Beautiful homerun. The ball just pops off the bat… awesome.
