  1. Stoeten won the entire podcast in the first minute with his screed about all those new & annoying Giants fans.

    Well done Stoeten!
    Eat shit Parkes.

  2. Dustin fucking Parkes – Giants fan from late October 2010 – fuck yeah buddy. We, the idiot fans of the Blue Jays, are soo fucking stooopid to cheer for this team. My favourite musical artist is umm, Frank Ocean, now – and before it was Lady Gaga and before that it was Coldplay. My favourtie movie this year is whatever tells me is the top. I am a weathervane in a slight breeze.

  3. Parkes is such a fucking no class piece of trash. Front runner! Detestable and soon to be unemployed one hopes!

Did I mention that I’m from Buffalo?

  7. Happy Panda!

  8. Well boys, I’ve tried to make amends by redirecting the Monkey Army yet again to this Game Threat, but not guarantees. What possessed you to go back in time 2 days? Are we pretending Farrell is still a Jay? Curious.

    • There were no comments here, because it is a Getting Blanked affiliated post. I get tired of hitting refresh and scrolling through all the DJF comments. Apparently, we’re victims of our own success.

I’m cool to go over to Getting Blanked. I can be assured ours will be the only posts aside from an ennui ridden hipster called “Meh”.

      • ‘Sup

      • Give it some time to see how it plays out. I’m trying to monitor. We desperately need a real leader, a man among men, like Radar. Where is he in our time of need? His quiet confidence, that charisma, his century of experience. Oh well.

  9. I’m hoping to pay attention to the game now, seeing as my main man Marco just done good yet again. 4-0. WOW!

    • +1 to what you said earlier about Scutaro. He’s a good bridge to Hech or Escobar moving over to 2B. Aviles shouldn’t even bother unpacking.

    • 5-0 thanks to the Panda

    • What a shit storm! Our smug brethren over at Getting Spanked must be having a circle jerk as we speak. Thank God that whatever happens here, I will be supporting Detroit.

  10. Hello you sonsAbitches, I feel like I;m in highschool driving all over the city trying to find the party. I concur on Scutaro, always liked his professionalism.

    • Where’s all the chicks? Or is this a sausage fest?

      • You brought a vienna sausage?

        • It might not be long but sure is skinny.

          • I’m here. But I’m old.

          • Personality and shared interests. You`re gold.

          • Oh dear. I’d like to say age is a state of mind, but you’d probably take offence at that, seeing it as an admission, not a concept.

Kurt Vonnegut said that “true terror is to wake up one morning and discover that your high school class is running the country.”

On the other hand, Robert Frost once said that “a diplomat is a man who always remembers a woman’s birthday but never remembers her age.”

Mark Twain had it right when he said that “wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been.”

George Burns allowed that “you can’t help getting older, but you don’t have to get old.”

And finally, Francis Bacon let us know that “I will never be an old man. To me, old age is alway 15 years older than I am.”

          • Thanks SP. I am actually quite immature for my age, so I can relate to that last quote.

Robbie Robertson got it right, though:

There’s gonna be a change of season
Indian summer look around and it’s gone
Why you wanna save the best for last
We grow up so slowly and grow old so fast

          • Robbie Robertson sits atop my list of greats, my dear, as do all his fellows in ‘The Band.’ It’s a bittersweet reference nonetheless, as only two of the five are still with us, body and soul.

          • He is on my list of concerts to see…still haven’t had the opportunity, but yeah I love his music. I always have something by Robbie on my ipod.

  11. I’m liking Ashby on the panel.

    • He’s a keeper for sure. He’s actually honest, not bombastic.

    • I find him insightful but I got the impression that he and Buck didn’t see eye to eye when they were in the booth together. Ashby would flat out disagee with some of Bucks comments, I enjoyed it but I don’t think Sir Bucklesworth did.

  12. We’ve barely assembled a quorum tonight, although I feel the presence of lots of lurkers as usual. I suspect a role call would not help matters. Perseverance is key.

  13. Where’s Karen and Radar?

  14. I’m developing an actual hatred for all things Giants–the manufactured part seems no longer necessary. Smug & insufferable-R-them. There’s my boy Marco yet again. SF is not going to let him go! Pity.

    • They may, don`t they still have Freddy Sanchez under contract

      • Donno. BTW I enjoyed your ‘Wheelchair ramp’ comment. You’re one magnanimous man, Smasher.

        • Some are suggesting naive, I think everyone who has shown up here at GSMC`s Game threat share more of a positve outlook for our beloved blue birds.

          • Talk about hitting the panic button! People need to relax. The World Series isn’t even over and they’re writing next season off. I’m betting AA makes some pretty solid, not spectacular, moves that get us to 85+ wins next season.

I’m curious about the manager for 2013. I’m thinking it’ll be Alomar, which I’m ok with, but I would be pretty happy with Ausmus.

          • Whoever AA picks, it’s my believe that The Skanks had the same opportunity and picked wrong.

          • You probably can`t go wrong adding another Alomar to the franchise but everything I`ve read about Ausmus has said that he was born to manage. I`d be pretty happy if we got him.

            • Yeah, the more I read about him, the more I like him. I’ll take a catcher as manager over a pitcher any day.

          • Ausmus would be an interesting choice. There are a fair number of good candidates out there. I just hope AA gets his ass in gear and doesn’t wait until everyone is picked over.

            • My money says we find out on Monday that Alomar is our new manager. I’m good with that. I suspect the Latino players do well with a Latino manager. He’s been close to taking the reins for a few years. If he’s not ready now, then when?

          • I couldn’t be bothered to read the 600+ comments in that thread. I skimmed it, mostly negative stuff from what I saw. I have better things to do with my time.

          • I’m hoping that I’m not totally out to lunch to think that the best of the candidates are wetting their pants at the opportunity to skipper our Jays.

          • Don’t know about pants wetting but I think an up and coming team like the Jays holds a lot of appeal for would be managers. Bottom line there’s more that’s right with the team than wrong.

          • 30 manager’s jobs max, with many oldtimer’s names like Valentine and Piniella still being brought up by those that require experience. With every open position, the same names are brought out and paraded before us, but so far, for example, both Farrell and Francona are retreads. I can’t imagine there are many on the outside in the game that would turn down an offer from Toronto.

        • There was a discussion on the FAN590 this week, about all the successful managers who were former catchers. Someone asked about Leyland…nobody could recall his position, so they looked it up. Catcher.

      • at GSMC,

I`d be allright with Youk, provided he took a bargain basement contract. He was fat this year, if he get`s in shape I`m sure he could walk his way back to .390 OBP and smack 25 homers.

        • That’s what I’m hoping. He can’t be worse than what we’ve been trotting out to first since Delgado left.

  15. Nice………….effort, but he missed the catch. WTF?

  16. I don’t want to jinx the Giants, but it looks like we’re going to another game 7.

  17. I can live with game 7. I want as much baseball as I can get.

  18. It won`t happen but I`d love to see D`arnaud break spring training with the Jays.

    • We’ve fucked up too many rookies lately. Give him time to get healthy and figure things out.

      • Are one of you boys posting a Game Threat tomorrow or are we meeting back here

        • Stoeten usually posts a Playoff Threat during regular office hours, weekends naturally excluded. If he doesn’t post one, we’ll have to MacGiver one.

    • I feel he has ‘some’ chance–he could force himself upon the team with a tremendous Spring. (Whether it would be in his own best interests long term, who knows? See Snider, Travis)

      • Yep… Everything is going to be contingent on what AA does this winter. TDA cracks the lineup at C or DH. Let’s see who’s still here come April.

      • I think he’ll spend a couple of months in Buffalo and get a call up before the AS break. He’s a bit older than Snider and hopefully a bit more mature and perhaps better able to handle the ML.

        • Yeah, I think everyone is a little gunshy because of Snider but he`s more of an exception to the rule.

Snider also had some serious contact questions as he K`d a ton.

I think TDA is the real thing.

          • I’m more concerned about rushing him back from the knee injury than his makeup/skill set. It’s a short drive to Buffalo, and the drive to see prospect porn will be worth it.

  19. I’m calling it a night. Game 7 should be exciting.

    • Cheers, my man. Until tomorrow then. Tomorrow we find out who the loser of the 2012 World Series will be. (rainout excepted.)

  20. It’s a little disconcerting that ‘meh’ left us after only three letters and one punctuation mark. On the other hand, given he’s a ‘Getting Spanked’ adherent, he might have felt he’d done his part.
