Toronto Blue Jays v Boston Red Sox

The Jays send their ace… [deep breath]… Esmil Rogers to the hill tonight to take on Justin Verlander and the Miguel Cabrera-less Tigers. Cabrera has played six straight games on turf, and apparently that’s too much for his poor widdle legs back to bear, which… actually, the turf here is a fucking disgrace, so who can blame him?

Anywho, the Jays, with the eleven game win streak now firmly in the rearview, look to salvage a split in this four-game set before the Twins come to town for the final home series before the All-Star break begins in about ten days (the club will travel to Cleveland and Baltimore to finish off the season’s nominal first half). So… I don’t know… let’s do it!

Scuttlebutt

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Oh! But also, Edwin Encarnacion is back and in the lineup. Munenori Kawasaki, mercifully, is at second base, too.

  1. True enough, fuck that dick.

  2. Ahahaha… Wilner is saying that the Jays are as good as the Tigers.

Then he said the Jays pitching staff is as good as the Tigers… holy shit.

  3. Looks like you have to be drunk to be a Jays fan these days.
Have tickets and hotel rooms for the weekend.
Thinking a paper bag may be more appropriate attire
    than my Jays apparel.

    • Enjoy it for what it is. Get drunk and watch baseball since the winters are long and cold. :)

    • It’s baseball! It’s fun!
And sometimes Toronto is fun. I mean, if you don’t have to live here. Good times can be had.

  4. Haven’t posted for a bit. I said in May the rest of the year was justa glorified tryout camp to see who goes or stays. The 11 game winning streak got me a bit hyped up again, but after a loss did they resume playing good ball?
No, they took a dump instead. Tonight was another epic clusterfuck, of which I have had to endure far too many already this year and i am tired of their fukin excuses
So, regrettably, The clock is ticking on who goes at e.o.m or before.
We have a hole at 2B the size of a cave ( at least KJ could field and what the hell with him we may have set a MLB SO record), we have holes in the SP and while I figured he could trade JJ at 7/31 his value is zippo, so we will have to keep him for now. And catcher of course.
So, I think AA could be both a seller and a buyer , trying to fill the above 3 somehow, while dealing some of our strength ( relief pitching and kids).
I can see Janssen, Oliver for sure, and Lincoln and maybe wagner being moved if need be, possibly to St Louis. Rasmus copuld be moved to help acquire this as we can make do in the OF for the rest of the year if we have to
Or maybe we call our Chicago trading partners and get Beckham for 2B and Peavy for some of the above and maybe Gose.
AA will not be bring back these sam3 25 guys-no fukin way. At least 5 will be moved before next March imo ( not including Oliver who is retiring or wahever)
Let the Farting begin as i have gas-they already took their dump

  5. They pretty much have to sweep the Twins now. Only winning 2 out of 3 at home against teams like that isn’t enough to get them back into anything.

  6. Thanks in favor of sharing such a nice opinion, post is pleasant, thats why i
    have read it entirely

  7. “Since they played the game, he said, they should understand how difficult it is and cut him some slack now and then.”

    JPA regarding zaun/ hayhurst.

Really? FIrst he says they are not doing a good job analyzing then he says they should lie. Cutting a shitty performance like JPA’s some “slack” is lying/sugarcoating/massaging.
whatever you want to call it..its a lie.

it is not medias job to lie for you. that would be your agent.
