I’m not about to get wistful about the disaster we’re about to finally put into the rearview, but the Jays road schedule– which began with a 7-3 zero-strikeout Brandon Morrow loss on a cold April Tuesday in Detroit, and continued through a come-from-behind win and then a doom-portending Josh Johnson explosion in a driving rain storm, then moved to Kansas City where the season, and Jose Reyes’s ankle, took another ominous turn– concludes tonight with a meaningless blip of a game in Baltimore. So it goes.

Say goodbye to the road greys for a few months.

*Sigh*

Scuttlebutt

Gregor Chisholm tweets that there’s an Ace impostor on the field in Baltimore. Juh?

Brendan Kennedy tells us that Adam Lind is day-to-day with a back issue. John Gibbons tells him that it tightened up on him while rounding third last night, and got worse on the swing.

Another Kennedy tweet informs us that Ryan Langerhans got the news of his recall while on the road towards a hunting trip. He’s in tonight at first base– he wasn’t needed in the outfield, despite the paternity-based departure of Rajai Davis, as Moises Sierra is OK to play, and will be in right.

  1. Ryan Fuckin Langerhans

  2. The Seattle game at home where dickey was terrible was the one for me

    • +1. I was t the game with the kids. beautiful day with plenty of sunshine. Dickey got bombed in the first inning. I think they were down 5-1 after 1 inning.

      Next year will be better

    • All of the games against the Yankees, especially the one when Vernon doubled home 2 runs in the 8th for the come behind win.

  3. This lineup gets better and better everyday.

I’m surprised they haven’t called me.

  4. Islets of Langerhans: Irregular clusters of endocrine cells scattered throughout the tissue of the pancreas that secrete insulin and glucagon.

  5. It’s all good here I’ve traveled to the Barbados now my cup runneth over.
Even Ryan is a big strong ball player…

  6. Love it that Kawasaki is the DH. Check out the National Post article today where he says he wants to be called “little Papi.” How awesomely funny this dude is.

  7. Well… Lind should not even have been on the swings if his back was bad…

  8. That’s no Ace imposter- looks like a middle-aged BJ Birdy has had some work done…

  9. i feel like a dickhole for wanting the Jays’ pick to be protected

  10. Fuck off, Tabby, with your “the Orioles play the game the right way,” after we’ve watched them totally botch 2 or 3 plays already.

  11. Anyone think Paul Beeston has a shot at replacing Selig? Beeston was COO of the league for a long time…

  12. Aside from the 11 game win streak, what were your highlights from this season?

  13. Jordan Bastion just tweeted a bautista home run that gave me a boner

  14. I keep hearing so much buzz about this Langerhans fellow. It’s crazy. I’m only 1/4 watching but it’s all about the Langerhans.

  15. Wow I’ve missed you guys and I see the gang’s mostly here. Remember those days when we were all on the boat or off the boat or back on the boat? I think I’m gonna sit here in port and drink strawberry margheritas until the boat sets sail once more next year…

  16. Any last minute tips I should pass onto my 70 year old parents, attending their first Jays game tomorrow, in row 10 behind home plate?

When they booked the trip out to Toronto from here out West back in the late spring, I was worried that they may get caught up in champagne showers as the Jays clinch the division, now am worried how they are going to carry out all the foul balls that they’re going to collect in the sparsely populated lower sections of the stadium.

  17. Reverse standings update:
Picks 6,7,8,9 are Toronto, Milwaukee, Philly and Colorado, all tied at 72-87.
    Tank Nation!

  18. Yan gomes 3/4 again tonight.

    AVG HR RBI OBP
    .295 11 36 .350

just over 300 plate appearances so who knows..it might be bullshit…but the power is real. and his defense is better than JP’s.

not a really good trade as it turns out.

    • @Voros

+1. I liked yan Gomes when he was here. Sadly, AA threw him in with the esmil rogers trade.

No one expected JPA to be this bad in 2013.

  19. I just realized that if Lind isn’t available today, Jose Reyes is the only player available on the entire 40 man fucking roster with a career OPS of at least 100.

  20. Totally off-topic, but do you guys have any tips for streaming the playoff games?

Really wish MLB and TBS would get their shit together when it comes to the licensing/blackout bullshit and offer a streaming package for sale for North American customers who are not cable subscribers.

Would gladly play for quality, reliable, HD streams of the playoffs but all I usually find are the sort of shitty bootleg streams.

    • I don’t stream but here’s a list of what has been recommended in the past.

      mlb.com
      vipbox
      atdhe.eu
      link4
      austream

with some sites it’s suggested you turn on adblocker.
      Good luck.

  21. I’ve used pretty much all of those in the past.

Some of them are really hit and miss.

Just wish I could fuckin pay for an HD stream. My friend says he pays $100 a season for an un-official site for reliable HD streams of all hockey games. Wish some enterprising person would create the same thing for MLB playoffs.
