  1. Whenever I get bummed out thinking about Arsenal’s stinginess in the transfer market, our interminable injury problems, Barcelona’s shameless pursuit of Cesc, and our recent poor form against Utd & Chelsea, I stop and reflect that it could be worse: i could be a Spurs fan.

Are there any Spurs supporters who contribute to the Footy Blog or consume theScore’s coverage, aside from Michael Coren? If there are, they are a quiet lot, and they have much to be quiet about. I almost fell out of my chair watching the highlights of yesterday’s game. And far be it from me to contest KJ’s infinite wisdom, but Pavlyuchenko is a very good striker; his late goal could prove decisive. As an Englishman, KJ probably isn’t use to seeing strikers who can actually score goals.

I am pulling firmly for Young Boys to do the business at the Lane next week. I’m looking forward to seeing more matches at the Wankdorf stadium. Young Boys @ the Wankdorf: Classic.

  2. Sean Keay is a Spurs fan. Can’t think of any others at the moment…

  3. That TFC game last night was one of the highlights of my year. Alot of fun at BMO and an unbelievable performance. I’m still giddy about it.

  4. Spurs are my second favourite team in the league. Pavlyuchenko is rubbish and I truly believe his selfish plays cost Spurs the two dropped points against City. Pure rubbish.

  5. “Man Utd Target” Raul Meireles has apparently been left off Europa League’ playoff roster. He certainly has a lot of ink on his arms. Maybe he’ll put some of that ink to paper by signing a Man utd contract. But then again Utd dont need steal they need a playmaker.

Michael Ballack wishes he was as classy as Philip Lahm.

The first half of the Tfc game yesterday was probably the best football ive ever seen the team play.

  6. TFC’s greatest moments always happen when you aren’t expecting anything. In Montreal they needed to win by by what seemed to be far too much going in and then conceeded the first goal. Against Motagua and Cruz Azul I think everyone expected them to get pounded. Games like those are what make the tough times worth it.

Interesting note from this sumemr. Milan have spent less than 1 million in the transfer window. Singing Yepes on a free. Bringing in The greek defender Sokratis without spending. Then Amelia and potentially Boateng on loan. They only bought Legati for less than 500,000. I didn’t believe them when they said they wouldn’t spend but they have kept their word. I’m looking for some of the youths to finally get a chance.

  7. What youths should we really keep an eye out for in milan?

  8. The most likely to make some kind of impression are:
Rodney Strasser – is a midfielder who had half of his rights sold to Genoa in the Papastathopoulos deal.
Dominic Adiyiah – forward from Ghana
Nnamdi Oduamadi – a Nigerian forward

There are quite a few young players that Milan have sent out on co-ownership deals over the last few years too (Gianmarco Zigoni, Alberto Paloschi and Matteo Darmian for example). Hopefully they can start recalling some of those players.

Hopefully a few top Primavera players will be able to make their way to the first team soon too. Andrea Di Vito is a defender who got a look last season, only got into one match though. There is high hopes for Simove Verdi too. Verdi is more of a second striker. And personally I’m a fan of the defender Michelangelo Albertazzi. I think he has alot of potential.
