Yes John terry is an idiot and should be punished but where is evra’s punishment for telling Suarez “don’t touch me you fucking south American” is that not a reference to someone’s origins, nationality, and ethnicism? The ban on Suarez is a joke and we should be ashamed that British people to not accept cultural differences and language, as that has been completely dismissed as a defense for Suarez. It should be illegal for the fA to make him a scapegoat as it is nOt fair in the eyes of the law.
The FA better smarten up, or they’re sending a VERY dangerous message by punishing Suarez and letting Evra off: that racism against black players (who are significantly represented as players in the EPL) is a priority, and racism against anybody else is not.

united, look further into the incident…word is that Liverpool is claiming that Evra used a derogatory term for South American, in Spanish, when addressing Suarez.
And you’re probably right, if Suarez did call Evra French, even in a derogatory manner, the FA wouldn’t care less about it…

I totally agree with Kristian and Brendan’s comments on the Suarez ban. I remember about 20 years ago when I was first getting into British football, I was so excited to hear a direct report about a match from a friend who’d travelled from Canada to London and took one in. His report was devastating to me — he said that at the match he attended (not sure now the teams) every time a black player would touch the ball a noisy group of fans would shriek out monkey and ape noises. Bloody racists. I stayed a fan, but also have always wanted to see signs of seriousness about getting racism out of football. I hope this ban on Suarez sends a lasting message. I’ve long been a Liverpool fan, but this whole story sure gives me doubts.

So why can Evra say” Hands off me you South American”.. to which Saurez replies “Porque Negrito”, which is actually a common phase amongst Sth Americans. Wonder how Mr John Terry will go.. If he doesn’t get the same, or even more considering he has been brought up with this, then the game is run by a bunch of corrupt characters.
Yeah try that a very common phase in Nigeria and you really know what reply you will get from “negrito”

There is You tube footage of Evra using the word himself towards Lampard and others when he was a Monaco player.. So say for instance if Suarez was black what would be the consequence then.
