The team ratings in MLB 13: The Show got leaked today. Teams got ranked in four categories: overall, batting, pitching and defense. The Detroit Tigers got top overall ratings and batting, and the Jays are up there for overall, batting, pitching, but their defense skills fell short. Here’s the full chart below:

I just find it hilarious that Detroit is 13th in pitching and 19th in defense yet they are first overall ? the redsox shouldnt even be in the top 5 and who in their right mind actually believes that the phillies have the best pitching ???
To me, these rankings don’t make sense, especially the teams overall ranks. If we were to assume that their offensive, defensive, and pitching ranks were accurate, then the basic formula to figure out a teams overall rank would be to add all three together, then divide by 3, right? (My basic example is being ranked 1st in all three major categories, that would give you a total of 3, divide that by amount of categories (3) and you would be 1st overall). After using that formula, and I hate to admit it, but, the hated Yankees would be 1st overall. The rest, would look like this…

I didnt realize trading Adrian Gonzalez Carl Crawford Nick Punto and Josh Beckett for James Loney Rubby De La Rosa Ivan de Jesus and Alan Webster would make them better than the Dodgers and 27 other teams

however the fuck they came up with these rankings, clearly offense is the most important category for a good “Overall” ranking. Whatever, it goes out the window once you start playing the game
