Today’s a good day if you’re a gamer, especially if you play EA games. As we wrote about a few weeks ago, Electronic Arts announced that they’d be getting rid of the Online Pass program. EA has now officially started removing all the restrictions, and it should be complete within the coming weeks.

EA Sports games will be the first set of games to have the passes removed. EA Sports initially launched the system to earn more revenue from used gamerss, as well to profit from those that choose to pirate their games.

Before you think that this is a step in the right direction, the next generation consoles will severely restrict and/or eliminate the concept of used games. So celebrate while you can with your 360’s and your PS3’s.
