  1. Nik Kronwall higher than Kessel and Kane? Bwahahahahahahaha

  2. Brent Burns – Power-Forward-Defenseman, hmmmm. I wonder how that works. Yes, i know he played forward last year, but I find that an odd way to signify that.

  3. these ratings are stupid. Kane is only a 88 while other less deserving players are 88 too…

  4. I’m amazed no one pointed out how Karlsson is lower than Kronwall and Seabrook. Wow.

  5. WTF??? This is a joke. Who is responsible for ratings management at EA??? I mean (biases aside…PS – I am a Flames fan…sucks to be me)…HOW on earth is the NORRIS TROPHY WINNER LOWER than Seabrook and Kronwall? Talk about ridiculousness.
I understand the ‘dynamic’ ratings that will change with the way the player performs during the season, but lets be honest. Your top 3 defensemen in the GAME ( to start with) should mirror the trophy consideration-
    Norris:
    1) Subban
    2) Letang
    3) Suter

    MVP – Forwards
    1) Ovechkin
    2) Crosby
    3) Tavares

Special consideration to Martin St. Louis who was a finalist in the NHLPA award.

After that its a crapshoot based on skill…the same goes for the scoring race. Its like they are pulling ratings out of there ass based on biases and not hockey knowledge, which apparently EA is extremely lacking of these days

  6. I was shocked at some of these too but in EA’s defence there isn’t a guy in a room picking each players overall. They rate their skills individually, and some algorithm gives them an overall.

I could be completely wrong, but that’s my understanding of how it works.

  7. Guys it’s all about overall right? I’m a Leafs fan but I’ll be the first to admit Subban and Karlsson are both amazing players but they’re not complete defenders. Their offense is unreal, sure, but their defensive game is lacking hence the lower ratings than a guy like Seabrook. But Burns being an 89 is absolutely ridiculous. Must have been an increase since he got 100 in the beard department.

  8. People need to chill out and understand that these ratings aren’t supposed to reflect “value to team”

    • Since when? I was under the impression all E.A. rankings are based on how they rate compared to the whole league… nothing to do with percieved “value to their team”

  9. Hold Up! Patty Kane: Conn Smythe winner and P.K Subban are lower rater than BRENT FREAKIN’ BURNS!!!

  10. ARE YOU SERIOUS MAX PACIORETTY IS AN 88 AND SO ARE PATTY KANE AND PHIL KESSEL AND BRETT BURNS IS HIGHER THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS

  11. Whatever, all I want to know is if they are going to make a game patch to include Phil Kessel’s beauty Team USA picture??? Brent Burns, way to represent Ajax!

  12. dude, the game is made by a paki in vancouver, dunno how you guys are expecting any form of normal ratings.. also.. fuck this P.K subban shit.. i bet half you autists were saying the leafs only made the playoffs last year cause it was a shortened season, same goes for PK winning the Niggis

  13. I dont understand how brent burns is an 89 when he only has a few stats that are 89 and over…. i bet if you calculated the averages he wouldnt be 89
