At the end of 2012, video game developer THQ announced that they would file for bankruptcy, leaving uncertainty in their game titles, especially their WWE game. They ended up losing the title in the bankruptcy, and 2K Sports announced their acquisition of the WWE license yesterday.  The deal lasts for 5 years, and 2K isn’t wasting any time, releasing WWE 14 sometime this fall.

THQ’s WWE 13 received generally positive reviews, so it’s going to be interesting to see how 2K handles the game. Don’t look for any drastic changes, as they hired a lot of the THQ developers that have already worked on the game, a good sign for gamers.

We’ll keep you posted on any updates with the WWE 14 game.
