The Score sent the incredibly talented Chris Suppa down to the Rogers Centre tonight to take some photos of the Home Opener. In addition to capturing the celebrations that erupt during a 13-3 Blue Jays victory, his lens caught the following:

John McDonald tries to relate to Rajai Davis, while Aaron Hill thinks about that option not getting picked up.

Roberto Alomar’s banner is almost as ceremonial as his new position with the baseball club.

Do all the weird handshakes you want, just please don’t pull any of that double steal [Getting Blanked]with Jose Bautista at bat.

The biggest cheer of the night was reserved for the introduction of John McDonald. Not bad for a guy who didn’t even crack the starting lineup. How often do you see that?

The only thing nicer looking than Ricky Romero’s performance tonight was his girlfriend, Miss America. No, really. Purrlo.

J.P. Arencibia proves that Spring Training results don’t mean much at all with two home runs and a triple to start the Blue Jays season off on the right foot.

At least some fans didn’t throw their moist towelettes onto the field.

Let’s hope we see a lot more of this in 2011.

  1. Awesome stuff. Let’s all just bask in the afterglow of a 1.000 win % for a while.

  2. Last time they ever hand out towelettes, I would guess. I got hit by at least 4 falling from the upper decks, so now I have 5 towelettes.

  3. I bet JoBau keeps up the pace for about 162 HR this year.

  4. Greatest game I have ever been to, typical opening day bullshit though with the drunks getting out of hand. Go Jays!

  5. Suppa’s pictures are always fantastic. I feel privileged to have had access to them in my FB feed for so many years!

  6. It’s impossible to get drunk on Roger’s Centre beer, even if you want to waste the 90 bucks required to get halfway there. So they had to arrive shitfaced. Don’t let them in if they’re being dicks.
