Remember when that hypocritical clown Rob Dibble criticized Stephen Strasburg for missing a start just before it was announced that the phenom would be requiring Tommy John surgery? Remember when he was unceremoniously dismissed from his analyst duties at MASN?
The latest to come from Dibble on his Strasburg comments can be found in this horribly awful discussion over drinks with Mark Kriegel and Kevin Fraizer.
His father e-mailed the owner and the owner wanted me out of there. So that’s the bottom line. So that should end it. I want Stephen to go on, never have my name brought up and have a great career.
Despite claiming not to want to have his name associated with Strasburg, he previously went on to try to justify his original advice to Strasburg to “suck it up.”
He had a sold-out game against the Braves, and the people I worked with at MASN were excellent, we followed his workout regimen — which was fantastic. His warm-up was fantastic. He didn’t do any of that the day that he basically walked away from that Braves start, which was sold-out. And all the money that the Nationals were making per start on Strasburg was well over seven figures. So to me, you know what kid, you’ve got to suck it up.
Good Lord! Is there a less sympathetic figure in all of baseball than Rob Dibble? If Barry Bonds did twice as many bad things as his detractors claim he did, I’d still invite the home run king over Dibble to a family gathering.
The only thing more sickening than the stupidity of Dibble’s justification is that those surrounding him during the baseball talk seem to imagine that the former Reds reliever is some sort of martyr for the truth.
