Quick question: Did Texas Rangers third base coach Dave Anderson advise Josh Hamilton to do this during Friday night’s rain delay in Baltimore:

I listened to my third-base coach.┬áThat’s a little too aggressive. The whole time I was watching the play I was listening. [He said] ‘Nobody’s at home, nobody’s at home.’ I was like, ‘Dude, I don’t want to do this. Something’s going to happen.’ But I listened to my coach. And how do you avoid a tag the best? By going in headfirst and get out of the way and get in there. That’s what I did.

  1. The best part was when the 3b coach shoved him down and told him to slide head first.

  2. And then stomped on his arm.

  3. I’ve never heard a guy call out his third base coach like this before.

  4. I’m strangely ok with it. He didnt need to be sent there. Cruz was coming up too. The coach was wrong and and it cost them their MVP.

I’m pretty sure I could coach third base…. but I’m not about to hit .350 with POWER.
(the coach is replaceable, Josh Hamilton is not)

  5. I love the kid egging Hamilton on and then matter of factly telling whoever he’s with that “Cal Ripken nearly broke his arm doing that.”
