This has already been around the internet and back again, but as far as I’m concerned, you can never have too many animated gifs of absolute wackiness.

So, here’s Justin Verlander trying to get out of a balk by making an impromptu chuck toward home plate after going too far into his delivery.

Despite David DeJesus’ equally hilarious reaction, the play was ruled a balk and not a hit batter because Verlander stepped off the rubber before he actually made the pitch. At least that’s what home plate umpire Joe Hirschbeck says, and who am I to argue.

According to Verlander:

I saw the video of it, and I couldn’t help but laugh at myself. It was a weird circumstance. It was funny talking to the umpires. They gave me a hard time about it, too.
