When asked if he liked the fact that Billy Butler still wants to play first base despite accumulating 20 errors in 324 appearances at first base, costing his team more than eight runs above replacement over the last two years and posting a career -8 in FanGraphs’ aggregate defensive rating, Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost replied:

Sure I do, but you know what, I’d like to be an astronaut – and for some reason, they just won’t let me.

Oddly, this is the same manager who, without batting an eye, claimed at the beginning of the year that he’d be encouraging Butler to steal more bases in 2011, despite the 6′1″ 240 lbs designated hitter only swiping a single bag in his entire career.
