Ryan Braun was already rich. After signing his 5 year contract extension, keeping him an indentured servant of the Milwaukee Brewers forevermore, he became super-duper rich.

While most baseball players are assumed to either: a) coast after signing a big money deal as they’re now set for life or b) struggle under the strain of financial expectations and increased scrutiny from the lowly peons who foot the bill.

Ryan Braun doesn’t do either of those things, he just hits home runs. Over and over.

Since signing his deal on April 21st, Ryan Braun’s batting line looks something like this:

23 PA, 9 H, 4 HR, 1 BB, 6 SO, 2 SB, .409/.435/.955/ 1.389 OPS

No big whoop. Just counting his money and hitting big flies. That’s how you make the big bucks, after all.
