Fingering The MLB Pervert

Former Beverly Hill 90210 star Tiffany Amber Theissen appeared yesterday on a poor woman’s version of The View, claiming that she once received lewd photos from a baseball player asking her out.

He’s even more famous now, but he was somewhat famous then. [He] sent me a photo, a head shot at first, asking me out. And then I guess because I didn’t respond, he followed up with another sort of picture.

Let’s not bother questioning the validity of such claims and ask boring questions like how on earth the baseball player sent her such photos considering that few cell phones in the late nineties could take pictures let alone send them. And mailing or FAXing naken photos just doesn’t seem efficient or feasible. Instead, we should delve right in to some idle speculation on who the dirty pervert is.

No, you’re immature. Come on, it’s Friday afternoon. What do you want?

According to Wikipedia, Beverly Hills 90210′s original run was from October 4, 1990 – May 17, 2000, but Theissen was only on the show until 1998. Here is a list of baseball players who would’ve met the “famous at the time, but more famous now” criteria:

  • Johnny Damon
  • Jason Giambi
  • Derek Jeter
  • Chipper Jones
  • Jorge Posada
  • Edgar Renteria
  • Mariano Rivera
  • Alex Rodriguez

Of those players and during the time frame provided, only Giambi would’ve been playing regularly in California (for the Oakland A’s), where the television show was filmed and where both the baseball player and Theissen are originally from.

An intrastate romance! How quaint.

  1. Fisted! is too short a comment for this blog…so

    Fingered!

  2. Jeter or ARod….

TAT was on TV, and was also on TV on Saved by the Bell when these guys were teenagers. So I don’t think the California aspect is relevant.

Giambi is not more famous now. Mo, Chipper and Damon are not that well known outside of baseball. Mo is very religious, also and not seemingly in the holier than thou way. Has Renteria ever been that famous?

    So Jeter or ARod…

Given the centaur picture and his current need to flashy movie star girlfriends to feed him popcorn at the Superbowl and Jeter’s hyper awareness and control of his own image, I say ARod.

  3. If it was Giambi, I’m amazed he wasn’t discouraged by his incredible shrinking testicles.

  4. ARod’s enough of a douche, I say him, too.

  5. Hmm… well going by your list of suspects, let’s break it down:

Jeter: keeps this stuff quiet, doubtful it was him
    Rivera: too religious
    A-Rod: likes muscular women
Jones: would have sent her a picture of an animal he killed
Renteria: is not more famous now, so not him

That leaves Posada, Damon and Giambi. I somehow doubt Posada or Damon, don’t know why though. I’m going with Parkes on this one and saying Giambi, he seems the type.

  6. David Ortiz. Active in 1997, much more famous today.

  7. Kate Hudson is not muscular….but is famous.

And Giambi is not more famous today.

  8. Hey dustin, why don’t you start a show call “Mantalk” with drew and stoeten and you can invite guests like keith law and discuss how to make macaroni and goat cheese or how to boil and egg in olive oil.

  9. The fact that you call Tiffany Amber Theissen a 90210 star is insanity. Saved By the Bell, all day every day.

  10. Johnny Damon!

What the fuck? My comment was too short…have to add this.

  11. We’re forgetting about Jose Canseco. I think it’s fairly obvious it was him. Outside of the baseball world he probably is more famous now than he was in ’98.

  12. More famous now doesn’t preclude Giambi. Sure, he’s near the end of his baseball career, but he is probably more “well known” (in Kelly Kapowski’s world) having had a long career in NY than he was his first few years in Oakland.

I think it’s fair to say TAT doesn’t give a shit about Giambi’s WAR in 1998 compared to 2011.

  13. she’s a girl, she probably doesn’t know dick about baseball anyway. “more famous” probably just means that she had heard of him before.

  14. Why am I just totally sure it’s Jeter?

  15. The list of players included only players that are still playing. I echo the comments of others in saying that TAT isn’t referring to whether they are famous in baseball or not. So “famous” refers to “famous” in the media, not necessarily just in playing baseball.

    Bonds

    Conseco

    Clemens

    etc.

We just don’t have enough information to solve this caper. Although this definitely sounds like something Pat “the bat” Burrell would do. Who may be more “famous” to TAT now just because he plays in California and played in the World Series last season.
