The Chicago White Sox chose to nominate Juan Pierre as the team’s candidate for the Roberto Clemente Award. It’s not really all that surprising considering what FanGraphs tells us about the other options for the White Sox.

    I’m in full agreement with the idea that the best bullpen arm should be used in the highest leverage situation no matter what inning, and shouldn’t solely be reserved for the ninth. So why don’t the Brewers give Rodriguez that role instead of just a straight set up guy? In the last 10 games, he’s been used exclusively in the 8th inning. I’d think that it would not only be a more obvious use of his talents, but that he might even be happier in the role.
