ALCS Game 4 Update – Rain

The fourth game of the American League championship was scheduled to begin at 4pm. Due to rain in the Detroit area, that didn’t happen. The new tentative start time is 5:45, according to the twitterz.

With all the injuries swirling around this series, it is interesting to examine the lineups as posted. Visibly struggling stars Victor Martinez and Adrian Beltre are both in for tonight, as is yesterday’s scratch Delmon Young. Below are the lineups, ready for your thoughts and feelings.

Texas Rangers Detroit Tigers
I. Kinsler 2b A. Jackson cf
E. Andrus ss R. Raburn rf
J. Hamilton cf M. Cabrera 1b
M. Young 1b V. Martinez dh
A. Beltre 3b D. Young lf
M. Napoli c A. Avila c
N. Cruz rf J. Peralta ss
D. Murphy lf R. Santiago 2b
Y. Torrealba dh B. Inge 3b

At this point, what else can the Tigers do? That lineup actually doesn’t look too bad. I like that Young is lower in the order, though flipping him with Avila might make me a little happier.

As for the Rangers, Yorvit! Mitch Moreland, we hardly knew ye. This lineup continues to slightly baffle, what with singles hitters Andrus and Young getting mad PAs while the designated hitter &whose only job is to hit! — bats last. Whatever, it’s Wash’s world!
