The Hank Aaron Award is given annually to the players judged to be the best hitter in their respective league. The awards for the American and National League recipients will be handed out prior to tonight’s baseball game in Arlington, and if you follow Jose Bautista and Matt Kemp on Twitter, you’ve likely got a pretty good idea of who will be receiving the honours this evening.

Here are your leaders in two advanced metrics that are meant to take into account only batting numbers. First, FanGraphs’ park adjusted runs above average based on weighted on base average.

American League:

  1. Jose Bautista, 64.7
  2. Miguel Cabrera, 64.4
  3. Adrian Gonzalez, 47.4

National League:

  1. Ryan Braun, 59.3
  2. Matt Kemp, 58.6
  3. Prince Fielder, 51.5
