This is a photo, culled from the twitter feed of one Adam Kimelman, who does things for NHL.com. This photo shows construction beginning in earnest for the NHL’s Winter Classic game, taking place at Citizen’s Bank Park in Philadelphia on
New Years Day January 2nd. Is nothing sacred?
Also beginning in earnest: the pre-season training of Roy Halladay, it seems. Outside, in shorts, on a 45 degree day. Because why not?
Unless, of course, it isn’t Roy Halladay. Details are hazy. Roy Halladay is a lot like Batman but better, he’s both the hero we need AND the hero we need right now. It’s okay to graft your hopes and dreams onto Roy Halladay, he’s training hard to carry the burden. Accept no substitute.
Sorry to disappoint everyone but the picture of the guy throwing in Citizens Bank Park is actually Charlie Morton.

I said NO SUBSTITUTE.
