In addition to realizing the hopes and prayers of the Yankees “Universe” (ugh) rests on his ability to pitch 220 innings of exceptional baseball and fixing his diet to ensure he is healthy and svelte enough to do so, CC Sabathia spent some time this off-season collecting artwork.

Not the Omar Vizquel/Jeffrey Loria type of artwork, more of the Brett Lawrie-style art collecting.

Not the left arm of Mr. Sabathia. The very left arm that netted him a tidy five-year, $122 million dollar contract extension. Seems Carsten Charles wanted to commemorate this financial security by celebrating a life free of job interviews and good goddamns given. More photographic evidence below the jump.

And the after, via Reuters.

Looking good, big man. If Bleacher Report disagrees, you must be doing something right.

  1. That’s not a tattoo, he wrote his extensive grocery list on his arm to remember.

  2. Are we going to have to start begrudgingly respect BR with addition of Goldman? I feel like they’re at least TRYING to become more respectible.

  3. If my left arm were my meal ticket I’d be super paranoid about letting someone run a needle all over it.

  4. I don’t know if its just me, but did he also lose a ton of weight?!?!

Maybe its’ the spring training uni’s, they seem slimming without the pinstripes.
