The Los Angeles Angels have signed shortstop Erick Aybar to a four-year extension worth a reported $35 million. Aybar signed with the Angels out of the Dominican Republic in 2002.
Since joining the Angels in 2006, Aybar has seen time all over the diamond, but settled as their shortstop in 2008. He has a career .317 OBP and .694 OPS in 639 games.
A look at his fWAR metrics show that the 2011 season was by far his best, posting a career-high ten home runs with a .743 OPS.

Aybar and Howie Kendrick, two homegrown players, are both locked up now through the 2015 season.
