I’m all for baseball stadiums adding some local flavour to their in-stadium dining options. Take Minute Maid Park’s Tex-Mex themed options at Rosa’s Taqueria, or some of the barbecue options available at Kauffman Stadium for example. The integration of provincial food stylings adds character to the overall experience of visiting a city and its baseball stadium.
Sometimes, though, a franchise will just reach back into its history and slap the name of an old fan favourite on a restaurant. Take, for example, Keith’s Grill at Citi Field in New York where Mets’ legend Keith Hernandez lends his luminary status to a burger shack. If you’ve ever wondered whether or not Mr. Hernandez has sampled the goods that bear his name, well, here’s some evidence that confirms he has.
Careful not to drop any onions, Keith.
