The Cleveland Indians are expected to recall Johnny Damon from his stint at extended spring training in time for Tuesday’s game against the White Sox.

Damon, who signed a one-year deal worth $1.25 million two weeks ago, will likely patrol left field for the Indians, who are suddenly looking for offense, scoring 17 runs in their past seven games. With the Rays last season, he posted a .326 OBP and 1.5 FWAR, his lowest totals in both metrics since the 2001 season.

Shelley Duncan will likely be the man to lose at bats with Damon’s arrival, with just a .230/.355/390 slash line to his name thus far. With Shin-Soo Choo due back from a hamstring injury, Aaron Cunningham may be optioned back to the minors to make room for Damon.
