The Texas Rangers may need Roy Oswalt to speed up his road back to the majors, as the team placed starter Derek Holland on the 15-day disabled list with left shoulder fatigue.

Holland, who has a 4.48 FIP on the season, has been fighting a stomach virus the last few weeks, losing 10-15 pounds. Over his last four starts, the lefty has allowed 18 runs over 19.1 innings.

Taking his place on the roster will be pitcher Tanner Scheppers, a reliever from Triple-A Round Rock. Taking his place on the mound though will be Alexi Ogando, who made 29 starts for the Rangers in 2011, posting a 3.65 FIP and 3.6 fWAR.
