Good Stretch For A Big Man

With England about to open up their Euro 2012 campaign, I was reminded of Peter Crouch, a pretty lousy striker with a lot of size who used to play up front for England’s national team. The justification for his ample opportunities on the English team was that he had “good touch for a big man.” As you might imagine, this quickly became a sarcastic meme that became more laughable after every one of Crouch’s missed chances.

After this play by Prince Fielder during yesterday’s Sunday Night Baseball game, I believe we can extend the expression into baseball and justify the use of Fielder as the team’s first baseman by suggesting that he has pretty good stretch for a big man.
