The Atlanta Braves bullpen will look a little different tonight after the team designated Livan Hernandez for assignment. Kris Medlen was recalled from Triple-A to take his spot on the roster.

This season, Hernandez was the long-man out of the pen for the Braves, posting an unimpressive 4.71 FIP in 18 games, allowing five home runs. In his last appearance against the Blue Jays on June 10th, Hernandez came in the game for Julio Teheran and allowed five runs on seven hits. In his last two appearances, he has allowed nine runs on 13 hits in only 4 2/3 innings.

Hernandez, a two-time All-Star, has appeared in 493 games for the Marlins, Giants, Expos/Nationals, D’Backs, Twins, Rockies, Mets and Braves. He should land another job with an organization after he clears waivers.
