Andre Ethier Leaves Game

The Los Angeles Dodgers, already without Matt Kemp in their lineup, lost Andre Ethier to an oblique injury in today’s game against the San Francisco Giants. He was injured while sliding into second base in the first inning.

Ethier, who just recently signed a five year extension with the Dodgers worth $85 million, will likely be heading to the disabled list. On the season, Ethier has a .291/.355/.491 line with ten home runs.

Elian Herrera replaced him in right field today, and may get more playing time if Ethier is to miss an extended period of time. The Dodgers outfield options are now down to Bobby Abreu, Tony Gwynn Jr, Juan Rivera, Jerry Hairston Jr,  Adam Kennedy and Elian Herrera.
