By far my favourite part of the All-Star festivities is the Futures Game, which takes place today at 5pm. The game can be viewed on MLB.tv as well as ESPN 2 and will feature the game’s top prospects.

ESPN’s Keith Law gives a tool-by-tool preview of some of the game’s participants such as Kansas City’s Wil Myers, Boston’s Xander Bogaerts, Cincinnati’s Billy Hamilton and Arizona’s Tyler Skaggs.

The game will feature American-born prospects against non-Americans and the starting lineups can be found after the jump:

U.S.

The U.S. roster also includes top prospect pitchers such as righthander Dylan Bundy of the Orioles, 2011 first overall pick Gerrit Cole of the Pirates, Mariners lefthander Danny Hultzen, and Pirates righty Jameson Taillon. The bench includes Rockies third base prospect Nolan Arenado, Orioles shortstop Manny Machado, and Miami outfielder Christian Yelich.

World

Other pitchers on the World roster include Cuban righthander Jose Fernandez of the Marlins and Canadian righthander Kyle Lotzkar of the Reds. The bench features Clevelands shortstop Francisco Lindor and San Diego’s slugging outfielder Rhymer Liriano among others.

The Futures Game allows the average fan a rare look at the players who will one day fill out their teams’ Major League uniform and should be a lot of fun to watch. For a complete rundown of the roster with stats, check out MLB.com.

  1. True story: I went to high school with Kyle Lotzkar.

    That is all.

  2. “Prospect porn” – love it. LMAO

  3. I could not find this game anywhere on MLB.tv. Not on PC, Xbox, or PS3. I was very sad.

    • Yeah, me neither. Which was lame because they advertised it that way. It was on Sportsnet One if you’re lucky enough to get that channel.
