The Arizona Diamondbacks have sent Trevor Bauer, their third overall selection in the 2011 draft, back to Triple-A.

Bauer, who was 7-1, 1.68 ERA, 2.72 FIP in eight Double-A starts and 4-0, 2.82 ERA, 3.33 FIP in eight Triple-A starts in 2012, didn’t fare as well for the big club. In his four starts for the D’Backs, he walked 13 batters in 16.1 innings, and recorded a 6.06 ERA, 5.15 FIP and 4.72 xFIP.

In his last outing against the Reds, he was extremely wild, walking five batters while throwing two wild pitches.

  1. I, for one, am disappointed. Love these big time pitching prospects, I hope he catches fire the next time he’s in the bigs.

  2. Keith Law must be inconsolable.
