With a little more than a week until baseball’s non-waiver trade deadline, general managers for all 30 clubs are keeping their cell phone companies happy in hopes of making a deal to help their club for now or the future. From now until the July 31st deadline, we here at Getting Blanked will have you covered each day with the latest rumours from around the league.
Plenty of rumours from around the baseball world today, but first, we take a look at the Ryan Dempster saga from earlier today.
Reports that a Ryan Dempster to Atlanta trade were all over twitter, until a tweet by Dempster’s official twitter account put a stop to all the talk. It turned out that he was in the visiting clubhouse in Pittsburgh, still a member of the Cubs, all while rumours had him as part of the Braves rotation. If the trade goes through, and it’s up to Dempster, Braves fans should hope he continues to find the type of success that has led to him compiling the lowest ERA in baseball among starters..
For now, he’s still a Cub.
