Canadian Justin Morneau in a Blue Jays uniform? Just one of the many rumours being mentioned today, and with Adam Lind going on the Disabled List with a bad back, maybe, just maybe this one has a small bit of truth to it. Earlier today, Jon Heyman said the Blue Jays and Giants have interest in the Twins first baseman. Dustin Parkes breaks down the rumour in more detail here. DJF also added this info on Morneau.

Whenever the Blue Jays are part of rumours like this, you almost have to believe it’s not going to happen, but we’ve heard this before with the Jays and Morneau, so you never know this time. At least we do know the Dodgers are ‘out’ on Morneau, according to Ken Rosenthal.

The Reds, who are searching for a leadoff hitter, have interest in Shane Victorino, according to Danny Knobler.

The Mariners turned down a deal from the Yankees for shortstop Brendan Ryan, according to Jon Heyman.

The Phillies have put pitcher Cliff Lee back on the trade block, according to Buster Olney. ESPN reports the Rangers have interest in the left-hander. The Dodgers are not in on Lee, according to Jon Heyman. UPDATE: Looks like a Lee to Texas deal is now officially off.

Pitcher Josh Beckett may be on the block for the Red Sox, but according to Buster Olney, the Red Sox have said “no” on any deal for Jon Lester.

The Braves are not in on Beckett, according to WEEI.com. Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe asked Red Sox GM Ben Cherington about the reports of Beckett moving. No surprise on his answer. The Rangers are now “out” on Beckett, according to Rob Bradford.

The Cincinnati Reds are looking for a bat a top their lineup, and Bob Nightengale tweets the coaching staff loves Phillies outfielder Juan Pierre.

The Baltimore Orioles missed out on Zack Greinke and Francisco Liriano, but have turned their attention to Phillies starter Joe Blanton, according to Danny Knobler.

The Dodgers have interest in the Indians Shin Soo-Choo, according to Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports. The Phillies have interest in Choo as well, according to FoxSports.com.

The Dodgers also inquired about Mariners reliever Brandon League, according to Jon Paul Morosi. The White Sox, Giants and others have expressed interest in Brandon League as well, according to Scott Miller.

The San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies are discussing a deal for outfielder Hunter Pence, according to Jon Heyman. The Dodgers are in the mix for Pence, according to Heyman.

Despite the thought they are “sellers” the Phillies have interest in Padres third baseman Chase Headley, according to Jon Paul Morosi, but Padres plan on keeping Chase Headley unless the market changes, according to ESPN.

The Dodgers and Cubs are still talking about Ryan Dempster, with outfielder Alfonso Soriano now involved, according to Ken Rosenthal.

Many teams including the Blue Jays, Braves and Angels have inquired about Rockies closer Rafael Betancourt, while the Athletics have been “aggressive”, according to the Denver Post.

The asking price the Phillies are demanding in return for outfielder Shane Victorino is high, according to Jon Heyman.

The Nationals have interest in Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster, according to ESPN.com.

The Marlins have told teams they plan on keeping pitcher Josh Johnson, according to ESPN.com.

The Mariners are looking at added players such as the Twins’ Josh Willingham, according to FoxSports.com.
