Derek Dye, a 21-year old senior at the University of Illinois and an intern for the Daytona Cubs, was thrown out of a high Class A game last night against the Fort Myers Miracle by umpire Mario Seneca¬†for playing the tune to Three Blind Mice over the Jackie Robinson Ballpark P.A. system while a call was being disputed by the home team’s manager.

I previously believed only politicians to be capable of misusing their authority in such a foolish manner. Can we get a Kickstarter set up to buy this umpire a sense of humor, or, at the very least, some counselling so that he may, in fact, get over himself.

  1. I hope the entire team bought that man a beer after the game. Awesome organ chirp!

  2. Wasn’t that tune banned from all ballparks years ago?

  3. (not joking either)

  4. Could have used that guy at my beer league softball game last night…

  5. Ha! Amazing chirp, ump needs a sense of humour.

  6. LMAO! That ump woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
