The¬†indispensable Operation Sports has the first screenshots from MLB 13: The Show. Not that there’s much indication of what to expect from the upcoming release, but you feast your eyes on video game versions of Buster Posey, Andrew McCutchen, Matt Kemp and Miguel Cabrera months in advance.

As you may notice by taking a closer look at the Bautista shot pictured above, the game is clearly still in the development stage as the Blue Jays roster posted on the Rogers Centre Jumbotron still features Yunel Escobar. Get on that roster update, yet-to-be released video game! Also: is it just me or does that ball of Bautista’s bat appear to be going the opposite way? Minus realism points right there. C’mon The Show, get it right.

Check out Operation Sports for several high resolution screenshots.

  1. Looks like Bautista’s first two at bats resulted in solo home runs. Can’t argue with that realism.

  2. If this is Target Field it makes perfect sense.

  3. That’s Oppo Power!

  4. The actual thing to note from that is pic is that it seems like we’ll finally be able to play in a closed roof Rogers Centre…

  5. But is there real grass on the field?

  6. Where the hell does that shortstop think he’s going?
    Must be Russell Martin …

  7. What the hell? There are fans in the Skydome. This game looks SO unrealistic!

…Wait, that’s going to be a thing now?

  8. Fans, please recycle. Whatever you have whilst at the game, recycle it. #recycle

  9. Obviously Yunel is going to be reacquired and Reyes is going to be his backup.

  10. Can’t wait for The Show ’13 and starting the season with the Jays roster.

  11. Ugh. That’s one depressing-ass batting line up on the jumbotron. What would we have done without the trade?

  12. i wonder if they are going to give him sunglasses when hes batting in the sun this year
